Malcolm Gladwell: Outliers: The Story of Success
Very interesting read! (***)
Ben Witherington III: The Gospel of Mark: A Socio-Rhetorical Commentary
Using it for NC's new study through Mark's Gospel
Tom Wright: Mark for Everyone
Very accessable. I like what Wright has written.
Cyril Richardson: Early Christian Fathers (Library of Christian Classics (Paperback Westminster))
Reading with my Church History reading group. (****)
C. Rene Padilla: Mission Between the Times: Essays on the Kingdom
From a missionary great. Required for my Missional Church class.
Lesslie Newbigin: Foolishness to the Greeks: The Gospel and Western Culture
Newbigin is one of my favorites. I am re-reading this classic for my Missional Church class at Whitworth University. (*****)
Jean Vanier: Jean Vanier: Essential Writings (Modern Spiritual Masters)
Awesome. Many have not read much of Vanier, but he is the founder L'Arche.
Andrew Perriman: Re: Mission: Biblical Mission for a PostBiblical Church
Thoughtfully written by a respected friend. However, in simple terms, I differ with several of his principal assumptions which lead to differing conclusions. (**)
Walter Brueggemann: Awed to Heaven, Rooted in Earth: Prayers of Walter Brueggemann
I seem to be reading this all the time. Amazing...really! (*****)
I am a speaker, university lecturer, missional strategist, pastor of a sweet church in the NW part of the U.S. and serve as leader of the North American region for Christian Associates (see link under Friends of the Drum)
I possess a doctorate with an emphasis in Missional Theology
Activities I enjoy a great deal: Reading, drinking fine drinks and Gonzaga Basketball - all in large portions!
Oh, and I love my 3 kids (23, 22 and 7) more than life and am absolutely crazy about my wife of 27 years who happens to have my first and last name (weird - huh?)!
Peace
